- Focus on your own requirements. It is possible that one has heard of new buzzwords such as Voice over IP without really knowing what these advancements can offer. However, the main thing that a buyer should focus on is his own needs. The salesman can recommend the technology to suit your situation.
- Buy from a telecommunications company. Many businesses will try to sell you a telephone system including electricians, computer companies and handymen. However it is important to use a company who understands the significance of a telephone system as the it is still the main communications tool of business.
- Check that your supplier can perform all aspects of the proposed work. This should include, not only, product installation but also exchange lines purchase, cabling, user training and ongoing support. This can reduce the amount of time you have to spend coordinating different suppliers.
- Check that the system proposed is suitable for the number of exchange lines and telephones you need. Also ensure that adequate provision has been made for future growth.
- Buy a recognized brand. Bigger manufacturers, generally, spend more on research and development. This results in technologically more advanced, user friendly products.
