Moving to New Offices
Moving to new offices throws many extra tasks onto an already busy manager. There are often many different areas to be coordinated to ensure that everything will be in place when your company is ready to move. We would like to make your project easier by offering the following suggestions.
- Assess if it is advantageous to upgrade your phone system during the move. It may be the right time to take advantage of new technology. You may have put off upgrading in the past because of your upcoming plans to move.
- If you have recently upgraded, or are happy with your system performance, you should get a quote for the moving of your existing system. This should be done well in advance of the proposed move. Modern systems are often less costly to move than one might expect.
- Ask the salesperson to analysis your requirements in the new building. Arrange for him to visit the new premises. A quick site survey can often identify possible difficulties in good time.
- Check that your supplier can perform all aspects of the proposed work. This includes not only product installation, but also exchange lines purchase, cabling, user training and ongoing support. This can reduce the amount of time you have to spend unnecessarily coordinating different suppliers.
- Check that the system proposed is suitable for the number of exchange lines and telephones needed. Also ensure that adequate provision has been made for future growth.
- Buy a recognized brand. Bigger manufactures, generally, spend more on research and development. This results in easier to use and technologically more advanced products.
