Useful and Efficient Features
3-Level Automatic Reception with Voice Guidelines*
The Panasonic systems support Direct Inward System Access (DISA) allow external callers access to particular extensions without going through an operator. Automatic greeting messages can be recorded by the operator, thus directing the caller to the appropriate department or destination. Customers can be given options on three different levels. Callers may dial the desired destination to a group of extensions or outside lines. The DISA feature can drastically reduce the amount of call traffic handled by the operator, allowing more time to be spent on new or important customers.
Built In Voice Messages*
The Panasonic Systems give you the benefit of voice messaging without having to buy a separate voice mail system. The optional voice mail card gives your customers the option of leaving a message when you are not available. Customised greetings can be added to your voice mailbox and voice messages will be left in your personal mailbox. Call Centres and workgroups can use the common message area for recording caller messages that can be played back later by an operator. For more advanced needs, a Panasonic Voice Processing System (VPS) can provide for more flexibility and control.
* An optional voice message is required
Caller ID Display*
The Panasonic systems are compatible with a caller ID service which allows a user to see the callr's information before they answer a call. This function works on Analogue Propriety Telephones as well as Single Line Telephones that support caller ID display. Propriety Display telephone can be used to access the caller ID log for the 20 most recent calls, while the system itself has 300 common logs.
*An optional card is required
Flexible SMS Routing*
The Panasonic systems can be customised to allow SMS (text) message senders to address their messages directly to a specific user's single line telephone, ensuring the desired user receives their messages quickly and privately.
* An optional Caller ID card and an SMS Compatible Telephone is required to send and receive SMS messages.
Efficient Call Handling
Uniform Call Handling
Uniform call handling is especially useful for companies with a high incoming call traffic. Uniform Call handling allows incoming calls to be distributed over a group of extensions. If all extensions are busy, the system will play a message to the caller. If the extensions still remain busy, the call can be sent to a secondary DISA. This feature shares the operator's load, ensures that important calls are not missed and improves the company's image.
Call forwarding
When you are on the phone or away from your desk, incoming, intercom and transferred calls to your extension can be forwarded to another destination with the minimum of hassle. This ensures that no important call will be missed. Calls can be forwarded to pre-programmed numbers such as to your voice mail or mobile phone. The 'Follow Me' programming even allows you to set Call forwarding from another phone at your office.
Door-phones, Door-openers and Doorbells*
The Panasonic system is capable of handling __ door-phones. This allows a pre-assigned internal extension user to talk to the visitor when they press the door-phone button. The System can also be connected to standard doorbells to indicate door-phone calls with the familiar chime. Using an optional Door Opener the extension user can even let the visitor in from their desk.
Other Features
Message Waiting allows an extension user to notify the called extension of a message waiting when the called extension is busy or does not answer the call. The party can be called back automatically when the message button of a propriety telephone is hit. The Panasonic system provides 'Day/Night' and 'Lunch' features to change system behaviour according to the time of day. This feature can be used; for example, to designate which phones will ring for incoming calls after hours or to prevent outgoing calls at night. The system allows a 5 Party Conference Call, which can include 2 outside lines. Fax Detection allows the system to detect incoming fax transmissions and to route the call to a designated fax machine. This removes the need for designated fax lines and allows you to receive faxes, day or night, without the need for someone to transfer the call.
Economical Cost Management
Calling Activity Reports
Station Message Detail Recording (SMDR)
Detailed call information including time, date, extension number, dialled number and call duration can be recorded or printed out using the Panasonic systems. These SMDR records can be used to effectively manage call costs, staff productivity, and phone system usage. Third party Accounting packages can be used for detailed reporting.
Electronic Station Lock
The electronic station lock prevents unauthorised personnel calls from your phone by locking outside lines and requiring a four-digit security code before calls can be made. This feature can be controlled by the operator or manager using a direct station select (DSS) console and is useful, for example, in hotels that wish to block calls after guests have checked out.
Account Code Entry
(Option/Forced/Verified)
Account Codes can be used to identify outgoing calls for accounting and billing purposes. Calling activities made with ID codes can be printed out using Station Messaging Detail Recording. Verified Account Code is a useful way to control call costs and manage telephone expenses effectively.
Other Cost Management Features
Call Restriction can be used to prohibit unauthorised outgoing long distance calls by restricting certain extensions dialling certain lines. The system can Limit Call Duration by disconnecting outbound calls after a pre-programmed time. An alarm tone is sent out to both parties' 15 seconds before the assigned time limit.
