Upgrading an existing telephone system
There are many reasons why you could be considering upgrading your Telephone System.
The most common of these would be that you wish to take advantage of new telephony technology to improve the efficiency of your company. Features such as Direct Dial Inward (DDI), Voicemail and VoIP will allow your customers contact your staff more efficiently and therefore streamline telephone communications. In comparison to what an average company pays out on labour costs, telephone equipment costs are low.
- The most important consideration in upgrading your telephone system is to make sure the upgrade is not going to cost you more than what it would cost to buy a new system. Good advice is important, so an appointment with a member of our sales team could be beneficial. We would be happy to advise you and offer a budgetary price for both upgrading your existing telephone system and an equivalent new system. A telephone system will last anything from 6 to 10 years, so the costs should be considered over this time frame.
- Direct Dial Inward (DDI) allows customers to contact individual staff members without ringing through the operator. This frees up the operator to do more productive things than transferring calls. DDI is a feature of ISDN lines. Many systems can be upgraded to accommodate ISDN lines and therefore benefiting from this feature. It will also be necessary to upgrade the eircom lines. If you require further information give our office a call.
- Auto-attendant gives incoming callers a menu as to where they wish to be transferred. This can save time in dealing with incoming callers manually and can also be used to give the callers commonly asked for information such as hours of business etc. Stand-alone products can be fitted to many existing systems without the necessity of buying a new system.
- Voicemail allows callers to leave messages on individual staff members telephones. This can make staff easier to contact and allows the staff member to be better prepared when returning customers calls. Stand-alone products can be fitted to many existing systems without the necessity of buying a new system.
- Sometimes to avail of new technology it will be necessary to upgrade or replace your telephone system’s central control unit. This may not be as expensive as initially thought because it may be possible to reuse the existing cards and telephones, and it will usually be possible to use the existing cabling. A member of our sales team will be able to assess your existing system and advise you on the best alternatives.
